My husband is an instructor for many of the driving instructor courses around our city. It is a very demanding job, but he loves it. The driving instructor courses that my husband teachesare more aimed for women drivers and for young drivers. But it is helpful for any driver that wants to improve their driving skills. It doesn't really matter how well you drive, there is always room for improvement. I think that is where a lot of drivers go wrong in the way they think about how well they drive. Of course you could have been driving for almost your whole life, but we are always learning and could always improve out skills.

I give the instructors of the many driving instructor courses my up most highest respect because not only are they helping us be better drivers, they are also helping to save lives by helping us to improve driving safety awareness. Being able to drive is a privilege not a right, and I think that many of us forget that. To have the freedom to get behind a wheel is a responsibility. We not only take our own lives in our own hands, but all the people around us while we are in our cars.

I had this experience about two months ago when I was driving on the freeway here in Phoenix, AZ. It was a busy Friday afternoon during rush hour traffic. I was trying to get home after work just like everyone else in Phoenix, when this older gentleman in a classic car comes merging of the ramp to get on the 202 and almost sideswipes me. He was in such a hurry that he didn't even see me in the lane next to him. It's really scary really, every time that you get in a car, and especially driving on the freeway, you put your life on the line. You could be the best driver in the world, but one little simple mistake from another driver, and your life could be over.

By taking driving instructor courses, even if it is to just tobrush up on the skills that you already have, is not onlya good thing, but in my opinion, one of the best responsible choices that you can make as a driver. It is something that we get so accustomed to and it's so routine, I think we just plain forget that it is a privlege that we should appreciate having.
