She phoned the skip hire company and arranged for the skip to be delivered in a week's time. Now, all she needed to do was hop on her motorbike with her backpack and go on that short holiday she'd been gagging for for the past couple of months. She wasn't much for clothes really, a couple of t-shirts, an extra pair of jeans - that was it.

She was something of a free spirit. Every 6 months, she had to travel or else she felt caged in - suffocated. It didn't really matter where she went as long as it was outside London. Even if it was just for a day. Whenever she came back, London would always look different. She wasn't sure what the difference was. Maybe she was the one that was different everytime she came back from a travel, maybe she was the one that changed, not London.This time, she was going to Amsterdam. It was close enough to travel to by air and arrive in very little time, but far enough to feel she was somewhere totally different. She was already planning her next holiday: Spain! Another place that wasn't that far, but far enough to feel different.

She knew her motorbike would be safe at the airport. If by chance it went walkies though, she was insured. Her motorbike has a name too: Rebellina. A beautiful chunk of pure metal perfection that makes her feel rebellious and free everytime she rides it.She was used to travelling solo. She didn't know why but she always felt safe wherever she went - always felt guided, always met good people, made friends, some even long term. Amsterdam was no different. The complete safety she felt wasn't naivety or arrogance. She just felt safe, almost as if she had been there before, along the same Amsterdam canal, in the same restaurant, talked to the same people before. It was a reassuring feeling.For 5 days, she didn't have to think about skips or home renovations or contractors or rubble. All she had to do was chill and have a blast. Now THAT was something she was definitely good at!
