Our son couldn't wait to get his own car. I told him first things firs

Our son couldn't wait to get his own car. I told him first things first; he had to learn to drive. We talked it over and decided I would be the instructor, but he would have to pass a test given out of the local hand book first. Of course Larry didn't see it our way but he soon learned in order to get his car, he would need to give in.
He brought home a free paper called the motor trade. I think he pretty much wanted every single classic car and lemon he saw at first. The flashier the paint the better, and if it had stripes well that was THE one. We all watched him study that funny looking hand book I sent off for from the state department of motor vehicles (DMV). Being I was going to be his instructor, I wanted to make sure he knew enough not to get us hurt until he learned. Sitting down with the motor trade magazine, I found a classic car I wouldn't mind housing in the garage, well that is until I found out how much the insurance is for one. I think I will pass until I get the kids grown.
I began to make up the test he would need to pass before I let him go get his learners permit. I planned to notmake it too easy. His dad looked it over and began to show me some new ideas on some questions and Larry walked in on us. He asked what we were huddled up for. His dad told him and he rolled his eyes and walked out. Oh well, he will just have to study really hard. I took my duty of being his instructor seriously. I didn't want him getting hurt or hurting someone else.
Later that night, Larry took the test and only got one answer wrong. I know he was nervous. Dad and Larry were looking through the motor trade magazine and I asked them what they found, was there something there he thought he might like to have. Dad of course began to talk about this one picture of a mustang and it was sitting next to a skip hire. Of course it was 1963 candy apple red classic car. I told him tomorrow if you get your learners permit, we will begin in the old station wagon and if he could get around in that without hitting anything we would talk about getting him something we can afford for him to break! (Smile)
